ALBUM: Birth A.D – “I Blame You”
LABEL: Unspeakable Axe
RATING: 8.0 / 10–
Crossover is genre that’s been raped by so many shitty bands that has used the legacy of D.R.I., S.O.D. and Suicidal Tendencies to push out inferior music made by bands that have no business playing in a band. I love the energy driven sound of the mentioned bands, and Birth A.D. does not disappoint. They keep to the formula and bang out an aggressive, fast and very catchy record with “I blame You”.
This album doesn’t break any new grounds, which is a good thing. A genre like this does not gain from experimental minds, the music is primitive and should stay that way. The band does everything right, and there isn’t really anything to complain about. The production is very organic, yet you can still hear every last detail. Now, if all the emo kids that wear Suicidal Tendencies-caps, thinking that it is a clothing brand instead of a band, just started to listen to this instead of crappy metalcore they might learn a thing or two about music.
